Dr. Bauer helps orient a Freshman, By BOB O'KEEF A paper flower is far from the original in many aspects. A paper flower does not pro duce the tantilizing fragrances of the rose; it does not have the velvety petals of the car nation; or the intricate design of an orchid; it does not even have the beautiful face of a pansy. But a paper flower can hold meaning for its holder. And in fact, one of the prized keep sakes of the freshman girls (and many of the boys, though most would not admit it) is a paper flower. The freshmen endured the week of orientation simply because an attitude of joy and smiling prevailed over the campus. Flowers represent hope. Through history, flowers have adorned the heads of queens as a symbol of hope.
